Experience Description
This Cowboy claims and believes he is a Professional Roofer/Ground Worker. Cold called a vulnerable oap in Dundee, Scotland. Worried him into believing there was many issues with his roof. It started with a small £250 job and escalated to £3000. He walked off the property leaving the roof in worse condition than when he started. What was meant to be a small job of Re-cementing the old Ridge tiles, escalated to the following... Unnecessary Leadwork that he ill-fitted. Unnecessary Dry Verge System that he ill-fitted. A partially re-cemented chimney top, Partially unprofessionally fitted Dry Ridge System, Partially Cleaned Roof that was meant to be professionally cleaned/treated/painted. He walked off job (way out of his depth, apparently leaving the Company he was working for). His boss then demanding £1500 for half the work completed/to pay for materials and wages. This was paid due to demands, persistence, intimidation and threats, to stop any further works/entrance to the property.
Work Promised vs Work Done
Re-cement existing ridges (unprofessionally fitted Dry Verge System as Original Ridges were apparently crumbling). Leadwork between 2 roof profiles (unnecessary & unprofessionally fitted), Re-cement Chimney tops (started, not completed). New dry verge system down 1 elevation (unnecessarily fitted/not professionally fitted & secured), Full roof cleaning by Dry Scraping and soft wash/treatment and Recoated (Partially Cleaned, despite claiming it was immaculate). Left cracked & broken tiles (Due to walking on roof). Left missing tiled areas (Due to removing smashed tiles/not being able to source more). Left broken existing dry verges (due to power washing). Left mis-aligned tiles (Due to walking/sliding down roof). Left blocked guttering (still pouring with water/silt for over 2 days). Left back garden/fencing,sheds & neighbouring fencing/windows covered in moss/silt (due to power washing).
Attempts to Resolve the issue
Issue was not resolved by this Cowboy due to him walking off job, knowing he was out if his depth, intimidating and threatening looking for £1500 before leaving. His boss came 2 days later demanding the £1500. The only way to stop any of them from returning was to pay the £1500 (thinking part of the work was done, was to pay the monies). A week later upon requesting a quote from another company it was found that the work paid for was either unprofessionally done/unnecessary. Managed to get £750 back by slandering the Company (that he apparently worked for). The only way £750 was refunded was to keep the Company out of any Slander. Not sure what the Company is capable of either to be honest (living in fear since the partial refund). Police & Trading are involved.
Current Situation
Awaiting further Quotes to Resolve the Issues, hoping £750 will be enough. The reason I am Naming & Shaming the Cowboy Stewart MCCoubrie/Evans us because he was actually the face of this Company and he was the one who carried out all the botched work. (He appeared to Rail Road the Whole job including the Boss). He was a Law to Himself, very convincing, accomodating then became Persistent, Intimidating, Manipulative & then threatening.
Ideal Resolution:
Name & Shame this Cowboy so Noone else gets put in this horrific Position
Date of incident: November 2025
