Warning to others about my experience with a bathroom refurbishment I employed Michael Rex Johnston, also known as “Digger”, to refurbish my bathroom. He quoted £4,000 labour and estimated the work would take two and a half weeks. I paid the £4,000 upfront. After approximately five weeks, my bathroom was still substantially unfinished, with concerns about the quality of the workmanship. I subsequently paid another tradesperson £2,000 to rectify and complete the work. Despite giving him further opportunities to resolve matters and sending several emails, I received no response. I have now commenced County Court proceedings, which remain ongoing. My main concern is preventing anyone else from experiencing what I went through, particularly people living alone or those who may feel uncomfortable challenging a tradesperson working in their home. Please be cautious about paying substantial labour costs upfront, always obtain written agreements and keep records of payments and communications. This is my personal experience, which I can support with photographs, correspondence and payment records.

Emails, texts, small claims- just disappeared and has not responded.
Had to pay £2000 for another builder to correct work and finish bathroom, also had a by a new toilet £400
Just pay up but this is unlikely but to make sure he does not do this again . Especially to women and any vulnerable group
