Agreed build cost 112 k builder didn't want payment on works didn't have bank account with safe build but had 3 other accounts said he was avoiding the tax threshold so we agreed on paying as we went the demo and dig out for foundations went well payments progressed brick works went up 1st floor and they came back to fit steel works then brick works continued to roof all this time I am a shift worker 3 rotation so my other half that has mobility issues was dealing with the builders Mr khan she couldn't get up on a ladder to check works the roof structure went up but I thought they had rushed when the roof went up he called and asked for a transfer on the Monday I said no worries but after I done the school run he turned up and demanded 3.4k now today or my workers are not coming back so he told them to pack up we were bemused to think you have had 76.5 k off of us and you are getting upset about not waiting a weekend for 3or 4 k so they left the roof is still not tiled I called another roofer I had used before just for some advise I sent him some photos he came over and was in shock he said are they coming back to finish I said I don't know he kinda upped and left he said get building control to do an inspection so I requested a site inspection they faild the steelwork the pad stones incorrectly installed the missing pad stones where there was just bricks and wood holding up steels a steel plate that the second story wall was ment to be built off just loose not evan welded to the beam the rear wall had been taken out so he has left us and our young kids exposed to the weather and very cold temperatures no contact I have had others builders and roofers in and to rectify there mistakes is gonna cost 45,55k I have asked for money back and was ment by stone cold nope do what you gotta do I have written and sent letters of formal action today and posted them to his house
